Scolari Heads For Blues After Tournament

11 June 2008 by N/A

Chelsea Football Club have confirmed in the past few hours that Portugal’s world cup winning Brazilian head coach, Luiz Felipe Scolari, will become their new manager after Euro 2008.

Scolari, who is currently trying win Portugal their first ever European Championship, has agreed the offer to occupy the so far vacant managerial post at Stamford Bridge.

A club statement read: “Chelsea Football Club is delighted to confirm that Luiz Felipe Scolari will be the club’s new manager from July 1, 2008.”

Although Scolari has failed to coach at club level in Europe so far, he does have a winning pedigree in South America, winning the World Cup with Brazil, and the Copa Libertadores during his time at Gremio and Palmeiras.

I’m one of those portuguese who won’t miss Felipão; in fact I’m quite happy he’s leaving. Even though he’s doing the best job he’s ever done is Selecção Nacional, since he arrived in Portugal. What really, really bothers me its the way Chelsea (to whom I shall further on refer as The Russian Guy) had to have its way and have the announce made at this moment. Good or bad (I don’t care) the players didn’t need to have their victory shadowed by this. And what I hate about Scolari, the same way I hate about Mourinho and any other is the the Ego they have and which pretty much occupies the entire space. In the case of Scolari he’s got an even worst thing against him: he doesn’t know enough about footbal. He’s been world champion and all, but if we look at how the referres treated Brasil in that WC maybe people would think differently. And I’m really curious to know what The Russian Guy and The Russian Guy players think anout Roberto Leal, Nossa Senhora de Caravaggio and similar phoney stuff he’ll bring to the locker. Best wishes!
